Golfing is one of the largest pastimes in America, let alone the world. From the time of Caesar all the way to the time of Tiger Woods, golf has made its impact known on history. Golf as we know it today found its origins in Scotland back in 1457. It was so popular that King James II banned the game, as it took away from people training for the military. Today, it is equally as popular.
Something we have today that golfers did not have back in those times is technology. Today, we have access to apps, hardware, and software that works together to give us some exciting information that we never had access to before. With apps, for example, one can track how they do with each club, the distances they hit their golf balls, and how they are doing overall on a course. This is an fabulous time to be a golfer because of these technological advances.
Herein, I discuss three different apps that you can use to improve your golf game at different price points for different levels of interest.
FunGolf is a free app that gives you the ability to see your position on golf courses, suggests your choice of clubs, and gives you a 3D map of each golf course you are on. It also tracks your golf shots and connects with your Smart Watch, if you have one.
You can see the distances to bunkers, lakes, and other hazards, as well as the distance to your hole from where you are standing. It is truly an awesome app.
2) Mobitee GPS Golf Assistant and PIQ
Although this app has a hefty price, you are getting way more than your money’s worth at $269. This app allows you to track stats of clubs, balls, and holes. PIQ is a small device that attaches to your glove to show your remaining distance to the hole your golfing on. It also gives you a real time analysis of your swing.
You connect trackers to the end of your clubs, as well, which shows you how you do with each club.
It tracks your golf balls, as well.
You can connect with friends through this app who also have it and compare scores.
3) Arccos Golf
Arccos is the king of all golfing technology. At $299, this app and hardware has an “enhanced shot detection algorithm,” combined with GPS and analytics of how your are doing in your game.
The hardware and app/website allows you to see how you did on your shots and then gives you suggestions for how to improve. It has 40,000 course maps installed in the app to show you every crevice of the courses you golf on. “Tour Analytics breaks down a players’ handicap into five key components – driving, approach, chipping, sand game and putting,” their website shares.
This golfing app is for the dedicated and fierce golf players who are serious about changing their game for the better.
Golf is an exhilarating sport. Only those who are patient can be cut out for this game. It takes hard work, dedication, and focus to make one’s golf game better, and these apps will help you to that end.
